A Simple Start

Starting my morning with intention has allowed me to feel a sense of peace as I wake.
Knowing that I have something to look forward to as well as order when starting my day has been so good for my type-a soul.

Here is a look at the first 45 minutes of my day//

  1. Set the coffee pot the night before to brew when I wake. If you don’t have a coffee pot with an auto-start might is suggest adding this to your list! (5 Minutes)

  2. Find a spot to journal, for quiet time, to read and take that fresh cup of coffee and set your timer for 15 minutes! Reminder // You have the time to be still and center yourself with truth from God.
Note: I have found that if I push this step in my routine to the end, I often start doing other things around the house and run out of time before kids wake up. Be intentional about this time, make it happen first and you will reap the rewards! (15 Minutes)

  3. Shower & put on a Face Mask (I linked my two favorites here & here)! (15 minutes)

  4. Put the clean dishes away. (5 Minutes)

  5. Make the bed. (3 Minutes)

  6. Clean face/put on sunscreen & moisturizer!

  7. Start a load of laundry. (2 Minutes)
Note: I end up folding that load of laundry during the kid’s nap time.

Things I do the night before //

  1. Set the coffee pot to auto-start at the same time that I wake up.

  2. Pick up all the toys and tidy the house (waking up to a clean space is always refreshing).

  3. Start the dishwasher! We love all of the Puracy products we use, including their dishwasher detergent packs.

  4. Set out my book/quiet time materials.
